Gordonbrock School Street

The existing School Street for Gordonbrock School restricted vehicles without an exemption from entering Amyruth Road. The School Street zone restricted the entry for non exempt motor vehicles into Amyruth Road from Chudleigh Road from 8.30 3.45pm on school days during term time only.

The junction with Brockley Grove will be made one way in a Northbound direction, this restriction will be operational all day, every day.

To support the School Street at Gordonbrock School a second School Street will be implemented on Gordonbrock Road to offer the same restrictions as Amyruth Road. An ANPR camera and a one way plug will restrict non exempt motor vehicles at the same times as Amyruth Road.

The zone will be supported by signage advising the times of the closure, and advanced warning signage will also be in place.

There are a number of ways School Street closures can be managed due to the road layout and circumstances at each location. Amyruth Road and Gordonbrock Road restrict vehicles using signage and enforcement by Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras.

There are exemptions for residents, however we do encourage drivers to avoid using motor vehicles during the hours of school street operation, if possible, to maximise the benefits of the scheme.
